Exciting March Madness
March brings longer days, a shift toward spring, and a calendar dotted with events that invite you to get out and enjoy the city. Here are some March events highlighting this month.
Boots on The Boat | 7:00PM- 9:00PM | 3.04.26
Put on your dancing shoes for an evening filled with lively line dancing, toe-tapping country music, and tasty drinks and snacks, all with a classic western vibe. Dust off your cowboy boots and join us for a boot-scootin’ good time aboard the Queen Mary. Highlights include line dancing lessons, western-themed games, and admission to explore the ship.
Lakewood Run | 6:30AM-1:00PM | 3.07.26
The 35th annual Lakewood Run, “Powered by Heart, Fueled by Community,” returns on Saturday, March 7, 2026. Deputy Sheriffs, recreational runners, families and kids will gather at the starting line in front of the Lakewood Sheriff’s Station for the event’s 5K Run/Walk/Ruck or the 10K Run course for time.
Lakewood’s tree-lined residential streets offer a flat, “runner friendly” course that is fast for practiced runners and comfortable for fitness fans and family members. Professional timing will be used, with medals awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers in each category of the running events. All finishers for the 5K/10K run will receive a finisher medal.
Event features a Health Expo, where visitors can learn about wellness and safety through public safety equipment displays and programs. Live entertainment will keep the atmosphere lively, while local businesses participate by offering giveaways. Food trucks will be on-site to provide a delicious selection of meals. Attendees are encouraged to express their creativity by participating in the "Your Inner Champion" costume contest. Additionally, a scavenger hunt promises excitement for participants, with various prizes and giveaways up for grabs throughout the event.
Mardi Gras Masquerade Party at Shoreline Village | 2:00PM-10:00PM | 3.07.26
This year, Mardi Gras at Shoreline Village will transform into a sophisticated Masquerade Party experience. This complimentary annual event will feature live Zydeco music, Samba dancers, bead throws, DJs, roaming entertainment, specialty food, vendors, and dancing. Please note that there will be no parade this year due to ongoing renovations.
The festivities run roughly 2:00 PM–10:00 PM with multiple activities: at Stage 2 by the arcade there are yard games (2–6 PM), a face painter (2–5 PM), a balloon twister (2–4 PM), kids crafts (2–5 PM), DJ Rome (2–6 PM), and tarot card readings (2–6 PM). On the Main Stage (near the Funnel House) the live band Zydeco Mudbugs plays 2–6 PM and DJ Impeccable Styles follows 6–10 PM. At the 3rd Stage (near Galata Market) Sea Funk Brass Band performs 2–4 PM and there’s an adult mask-making session 4–5 PM. Roaming performers include Samba dancers (3–6 PM), stilt walkers (3–5 PM), jugglers (3–5 PM), and hula hoopers (3–5 PM), with intermittent bead throws throughout the afternoon, plus vendors and food/drink specials around the village.
Cowboy Hat Workshop | 10:00AM | 3.07.26
Join us for a fun, relaxed, hands-on hat customization experience with guided instruction throughout the morning. Most participants will complete their hat in about an hour, but the full two-hour window is yours to enjoy. We’ve built in extra time so you can work at your own pace, ask questions, customize details, and enjoy the creative process without feeling rushed. Bring a friend and enjoy a crafty morning at the Rancho, come away with a gorgeous one-of-kind hat, and a morning well-spent!
All skill levels welcome—just bring your creativity and get ready to craft a unique hat that’s all yours. Feel free to bring additional embellishments if you'd like; a brooch, pin, playing cards, etc. Make it yours!
We provide the hat, decor/lace, etc. to customize , a deomonstration and hands-on support.

CSULB Pow Wow | 11:00 AM-10:00PM/6:00PM | 3.14.26 & 3.15.26
California State University, Long Beach’s annual Pow Wow at Puvungna, an American Indian social celebration, is the largest spring event of its kind in Southern California. The Pow Wow is focused on displaying the university’s strong American Indian presence. Admission and parking are free.
The two-day event, which will feature American Indian dancing, arts, crafts and food begins at 11 AM each day and runs until 10 PM on Saturday and 6 PM on Sunday. In addition to dance contests and inter-tribal dancing, there will be California Indian Cultural Presentations, Gourd dancing with Dancer Registration closing at 2 PM on Saturday. All dancers and drums are invited.
Native foods, such as mutton and beef stew, Navajo tacos, fry bread, and Indian burgers will be on sale at the event, and American Indian vendors will be selling both traditional and contemporary American Indian art.
Almost St. Patrick's Day | 4:30PM- 9:00PM | 3.14.26
Do The Almost St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl is coming to Downtown LBC - so grab your greenest gear, dust off your lucky charms, and get ready to sham-rock your way through the night! Whether you’re rocking shamrocks, sequins, kilts, or a little too much green, this is your excuse to go full festive!
It’s Los Angeles County's most almost-on St. Patrick’s Day celebration, where the only rule is: wear green or risk getting called out. With games, contests, prizes, and plenty of downtown Irish-ish cheer, this pub crawl is your lucky chance to celebrate a little early and a little louder.
Come solo, bring your favorite drinking buddy, or roll deep with your lucky crew - it’s going to be one shamelessly fun night you won’t want to miss.
Queen Mary's Luck of the Irish Celebration | 2:00PM | 3.15.26

Khmer Town Night Market is back! Happening at F&M Bank parking lot (Anaheim & Freeman) for a vibrant celebration of culture and great vibes with the Cambodian community.
