July brings a variety of fun summer events for all ages. Local festivals showcase arts, crafts, and food, celebrating community spirit. Parks host outdoor concerts with diverse music styles. Many cities hold "first Friday" events with galleries and shops open late. Warm weather invites outdoor activities like farmers' markets and fairs, perfect for family outings and socializing. Here are some highlights for July:
Big Bang on the Bay | 5:00PM-9:00PM | 07.03.25
Join us for the Big Bang on the Bay event! Choose from a variety of seating options to enjoy the fireworks and entertainment.
Since its inception, Big Bang on the Bay has contributed over $1,500,000 to local non-profits, focusing on organizations that benefit Long Beach's youth. The proceeds of the events goes towards The Boys & Girls Club of Long Beach while also supporting organizations like the Action Sports Kids Foundation, Children Today, Los Altos YMCA, and the Autism Partnership Foundation.
The event features early evening entertainment, including aircraft flyovers, paragliding displays, and live music with a special DJ. These components provide entertainment while underscoring the event's commitment to community engagement and support.
Concluding with a 20-minute fireworks display at 9:00 p.m. on July 3rd, Big Bang on the Bay lights up the skies of Alamitos Bay, Naples, and the Peninsula. This finale unites the community, showcasing the event's blend of celebration and support for local non-profit organizations.
Aquarium 4th of July BBQ | 12:00PM-2:00PM | 07.04.25
Celebrate the 4th of July at the Aquarium of the Pacific with a delicious BBQ lunch served on the outdoor Veranda dining area with picturesque views of Rainbow Harbor. While you’re here, don’t miss the opportunity to explore the Aquarium and marvel at the magnificent ocean animals while creating cherished memories. Your ticket includes a private dining table on the Veranda for one hour and all-day admission to the Aquarium. Reservations are available at 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. with each reservation lasting one hour, beginning at your selected time.
Los Cerritos Wetlands Habitat Restoration | 10:30 PM–12:30 PM | 07.05.25
The Aquarium hosts a monthly habitat restoration event at the Los Cerritos Wetlands. This is your opportunity to visit and learn about our local wetlands, help the environment, and support the Aquarium of the Pacific.
The Los Cerritos Wetlands Stewardship Program is working to restore 66 acres of wetlands owned by the Los Cerritos Wetlands Authority. These wetlands occupy habitat in two cities, Long Beach and Seal Beach, and two counties, Los Angeles and Orange. The program’s ongoing restorative activities have included removing non-native plants, collecting seeds from rare plants for later use, and collecting trash.
Restoration will focus on non-native weed removal and rare native plant conservation. These events will be led by trained naturalists and local educators, offering a great opportunity for local residents to learn more about the Los Cerritos Wetlands, while getting hands-on involvement with the restoration.
The entire family is welcome to participate. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Event is free.

Don’t miss the annual Dragon boat Festival held at Marine Stadium (5255 E. Paoli Way, Long Beach, CA 90803). Dragon Boating is an amateur watersport which has its roots in an ancient folk ritual held over the past 2000 years throughout southern China and still carries on today. Come enjoy the fun, food and excitement and watch as The Southern California Dragon Boat Club paddles out to compete in one of the largest dragon boat competitions in California.
