West Long Beach

West Long Beach, often referred to as “Westside,” is situated in the far western part of Long Beach, a fact that is reflected in its name. Its boundaries include the Los Angeles River to the east, the 405 freeway to the north, Anaheim Street to the south, and the Terminal Island Freeway to the west. This vibrant neighborhood is bordered by Wrigley, Downtown Long Beach, and the cities of Carson and Los Angeles. Known for being one of the most affordable areas in the city, West Long Beach has a rich history as a working-class neighborhood, largely due to its close proximity to the Ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles, as well as the nearby oil refinery in Wilmington.
